WTSAFE and Yulin Tobacco Join Forces to Build an “Intelligent and Standardized” Tobacco Logistics Hu

As a key logistics center for the Guangxi Tobacco Industry, the Yulin Tobacco Logistics Distribution Center represents a total investment of approximately 90 million RMB and spans over 100 mu of land. It handles an average of 26 million cigarettes per day for loading, unloading, and sorting. Beyond its core roles in warehousing, distribution, and safety, the center aims to become a leading example of intelligent and standardized tobacco supply chain operations through technological innovation and service upgrades.

The operational environment at the logistics center is highly complex, with tall storage racks and over 50 workers and vehicles operating in mixed-flow conditions daily. Blind spots around the racks create a high risk of collisions. Driver fatigue, unsafe operation, and manual judgment of forklift height present ongoing challenges—often inefficient and prone to error.

To overcome these safety and efficiency bottlenecks, Yulin Tobacco partnered with WTSAFE’s expert consulting team to build a comprehensive safety framework centered on “Smart Forklift” technology, integrating people, vehicles, goods, and the warehouse environment.

(1) Wireless Fork Imaging System

By leveraging advanced laser positioning technology, the system provides real-time, precise display of fork height, eliminating the traditional “blind operation” mode. This not only enhances operational efficiency but also reduces the risk of collisions between forks and racks.

(2) Corner Collision Warning Lights

Given the high density of racks and numerous blind spots, corner collision warning lights are installed at key intersections. When a pedestrian or forklift approaches, the lights emit bright audible and visual alarms to alert drivers and workers in advance—significantly lowering the risk of corner-related accidents.

(3) AI Vision Collision Avoidance System

• Active Safety Control: Using AI technology, the system accurately detects pedestrians. When a pedestrian enters a hazardous forklift operation zone, it immediately issues audio-visual alerts and automatically adjusts vehicle speed to eliminate collision risks.
  

• Cloud-Based Smart Management: Unauthorized personnel cannot start the forklift. Driving videos and violation records are uploaded and stored in the cloud, accessible remotely for full traceability and simplified oversight.
